To save considerably on costs for two individual brochures, we offered alternate pricing to run both four-color pieces in combination on a large parent-size sheet. The color images were adjusted in Photoshop so colors would print rich and clear on the uncoated stock.

The two self-cover newsletters shown here are perfect examples of crisp, clean four-color reproduction and demonstrate that using gloss coated paper is almost always the right choice for printing full color images. Adding a gloss aqueous increases luster as well as durability. Each of the two examples were printed with a fifth PMS accent color.

Printing a metallic ink on uncoated paper does not always yield successful results. However, Mohawk Navajo's exclusive Inxwell finish provides exceptional ink hold-out and in this case allowed the iridescence of the blue ink to show. We improved efficiency by piggy-backing the client's 4 lots of business cards on the same form.

Sometimes you can prove your mettle with the apparently simple print jobs. This three-panel folder had rather heavy ink coverage on the front panel and the ink needed to be paired with a pleasing off-white, smooth cover stock. The blue and orange inks proved to be a perfect match for Finch Opaque Vanilla Cover. A good die score doesn't hurt either, making for smooth, crack-free creasing and folding.
