George Balanchine

The metallic silver theme of this piece was reinforced with a silver foil stamp over a double-hit of solid PMS black, and printed on silver Chromolux Cover. The inside required two hits of black plus satin aqueous. The difficulty was reproducing the photo of Mr. Balanchine; the only remaining print was stored in a Paris art house. The solution was to scan a printed image from the supplied art book, de-screen and re-touch it and recreate it as a double-dot duotone.
